In a frantic battle to the chequered flag, Sonic and friends speed around tracks set in mediaeval castle ramparts, lush rainforests and bustling cities, all taken from the visually rich and varied universes of Sonic and SEGA. Fan favourites such as Dr. Eggman, Tails, AiAi, Amigo and many more will join Sonic in their custom built vehicles, revving their engines and jostling to stay ahead of the pack. Each character will speed around the track in cars, planes, motorbikes, and in Aiai’s case – a banana mobile! Secret short cuts, swift handling and avoiding strategically placed obstacles are certainly the best way to get to the top of the podium…

But winning is only part of the fun in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing! Each character has a specific All Star move – such as Super Sonic, Banana Blitz and Tails Tornado – that allows a quick way for competitors to get back into the race! Power ups and weapons can also be collected around the tracks and used against the opposition to ensure they don’t become a threat to that number one position.

Battle it out in single or multiplayer mode, allowing up to four friends to race in frantic split-screen action, or up to eight players to compete online in the ultimate racing showdown.

Can Amigo scramble Dr. Eggman? Will AiAi say bye-bye to Tails? Are you gonna be faster than Sonic? The race will start in 2010…

Again there is no exclusive character on the box, just the same as every version but the Xbox 360 version except you can see slightly more of the pic. Still it's definitely the cheapest version out of the lot of 'em.

I like the different track designs and the character cars! It's sweet!!

I really wanted NiGHTS to be playable, but at least he's included...

The demo's been released on XBOX Marketplace now. It only provides single player and offline multiplayer options for now, and you've only got Sonic or Banjo & Kazooie to pick from and can only race on one of the Seaside Hill tracks.

But I'm giving this a really good thumbs up. It'll definitely keep me occupied online (I consider myself more than average on racing/driver sim games) and I can't wait to see what the other tracks, characters and unlockables are.

im looking forward to this, but i wish theyd release a stand alone Sonic racing game like Mario Kart...theres plenty of characters to do that

The game is practicly out so theres no point in putting this up as a game to come soon. I tried it on DS and Wii and its pretty good.

OMG what the hell is Ryo doing in this? He just doesn't fit in... and it's like...stupid? I mean what the *beep* is a guy from an action game that kind of gets close to reality doing in this game?!

I think it's kinda cool... He's so out of place, that it makes it great that he's in the game, for me at least.

That's why he doesn't fit... I mean he's out of place so that why I do think he shouldn't be there...

if he was in a Sega game, hed be in it

man some of the characters j didn't want in this game they should have added some new ones like metal sonic and shadow and eggman nega and some other ones.

Eggman Nega's not really mainstream enough to be put into the roster, Shadow is in it, and Metal Sonic... well... two Sonics... a bit iffy.

Nevertheless, I have now bought the XBOX version and found it really good. Done one Grand Prix with perfect results, about 8 time trials (most in the top 1000 times, best is about 200th atm), 2 online matches (both placed first) and done about 6 of the 64 missions. Anyone on XBOX Live and with the game can feel free to add me on their buddy list and maybe we can race some time! (XBL Tag in my profile...) =)
