Sonic's Gaming Career is almost over...
I don't know how to say or start this, but Sega offically lost my gaming interest.
Sega is making Sonic like crap.
1) Sonic the Hedgehog 4 dissapoints.
First of all, I was excited when I first heard this back in 2009.
But there were several things that I lost my hopes and made me skeptical.
This was a solo Sonic game. Sega announced that Sonic is the only playable character.
Now WTF? 1 had Sonic, 2 had Tails and 3 had Knux. Ok so in 4 we only have Sonic? Not AT LEAST TAILS?
Yeah, screw up number one.
Secondly, this is DOWNLOAD only game! Yeah that's right, you will have to go online on your PS3, XBox360 and Wii to play this game?
Covient right?
No! The game not even complete, it in multiple parts Which Sega charges you for each part of the game!
Trying to ripp people off for their money and WTF is a sequel in multiple download only parts?
And it doesn't even deserve to me Sonic 4.
It's not a true sequel.
Yuji Naka made the 3 Sonic sequels and his orignal Sonic team staff.
Yuji Naka is gone and Sega fired the old team. This s*** isn't a sequel and it's a disgrace to the orginal Sonic fans and the title itself.
I just consider this bulls*** and lost all hopes for this game.
2-The newer titles
Sega all star racing.
A cheap ripoff of Mario Kart. This is not even worth competiton.
Secondly, why the h*** Sonic needs a car?
I have no comments for this game as it fails so bad.
3-Nintendo feeding Sonic
You know why Sonic and Sega isn't dead?
Because Nintendo saved Sonic's a** and the Sega Corp.
Nintendo bought out Sega and continued it's titles on their consoles.
Quite frankly, it's pissing me off Sonic keep merging with Mario!
Seriously, it's almost scarey and at some point Sonic will be part of Mushroom Kingdom and considered as a Mario character.
Sega, you guys are pathetic.
3-Sonic's time is running out
At some point Sega will run out of ideas and lose support of Sonic fans. Suprisingly there had been a loss in the Sonic fanbase and support.
At this rate Sonic may run his time and his title and series may end before 2012.
I dunno.
You guys saw how much of a SonicFreak I was for all those years, but I'm tired living off the past with his classic games and hoping for a epic Sonic game.
Sonic will never be as great as he was in 1991.
Of course, some may think differently about this, which is why I made this topic.

Ok so you stopped liking Sonic and like Pokemon instead, so what? If you don't like it at all any more, why do you still visit sites to rant about how bad it is all the time?
Fan Dumb indeed. Read this article to see what you're becoming. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FanDumb
This site and most other sites do allow criticism on the fandom, but as you stated, you pretty much hate it. Go ahead and hate it, but leave us alone with it.
Sorry everyone if you find me harsh and hateful, but this is just ridiculous...
(P.S: You said you hated blue because you were so sick of Sonic. Your Pokefreak forum is blue.)

Re: Sonic's Gaming Career is almost over...
Oh, I do love these little moments we have, Freak, don't you?
1. You do realize that the idea of it being a Sonic solo game, is that fans WANT a game without any extra characters? And it's going back to Sonic's roots (The 1st game had Sonic solo).
2. Games like Mega Man 9 are Download-only... and They're certainly not screw ups. Most people think its actually MORE convenient if the game is downloadable.
3. So you're saying that if this game isn't made by Yuji Naka, then it can't be a true seQuel? That's a bit unfair, isn't it? A lot of seQuels that didn't have the original director behind them actually turn out REALLY good (like James Cameron's ''Aliens'').
4. Have you PLAYED All Star Racing? It's actually pretty good. Most critics agree, too. And what's the big f*cking deal about Sonic using a car? That's an incredibly retarded complaint, if you ask me.
5. Umm... Sega are the highest 3rd party developer for the Nintendo Wii... I wouldn't say that it's Nintendo that's keeping Sega alive... it's just, that they're working more closely these days than they would have 20 years ago? So what's the big deal? Times change.
6. By what are you judging the fact that the Fanbase is under "loss"? By the fact that your stupid little forum failed? That's kinda shallow. There are MANY Sonic fansites and events that still are VERY active.

@Renegade
I am not gonna comment or discuss any of that.
This forum and topic is only regarding Sega and Sonic.
Not me.
@Neo
First of all, Naka was the heart and creator of the Sonic Genesis games.
I won't consider this a TRUE sequel. Because none of the original staff and brains of the team exist in this creation.
Secondly, Just because it's download only isn't convient for everyone.
I personally rather buy my games in a hardcopy.
Thirdly, Sonic 4 is split into parts.
What kind of Sonic game is a sequel split into parts?
Guess what? You have to pay for those parts.
You get like 3-4 Zones per part.
BS if you ask me.
Sega All-Star racing...I dunno. But it seems kinda dissapoining to me.
I mean this game would be epic if it was a 100% Sonic game with ALL the Sonic characters in it. I don't like the idea of the crossovers.

If you see it that way, you'll never be able to enjoy what might be a good game. SEGA won't re-hire Naka, if I remember right Naka didn't even want to come back but I'm unsure of the last part, so you might as well get over it

Exactly. Just because they don't have the same people working on it, doesn't mean it can't be good. That's INCREDIBLY shallow thinking.
By that logic, any Sonic fan-site sucks because they don't have the same people that made the first Sonic fan-site ever.
Re: Sonic's Gaming Career is almost over...
It's always because people have high expectations. I don't mind the new Sonic games. The racing one is actually really fun and not really like Mario Kart.

Re: Sonic's Gaming Career is almost over...
Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I think we're all stressing that if you don't like Sonic anymore, that fine by us, so long as you stop coming back at us with these rants. The reasons you're citing are pretty low key and have no real evidence to back them up.
1: Sonic the Hedgehog 4 disappoints
This has been mentioned by others I'm sure. Sonic 'going back to his roots' is certainly going to please many people because that's what made him popular and it's what the fan bases are asking for.
And if you're worked up about why it's only downloadable content that comes in different 'episodes'... You're the one that doesn't like the game, so why are you complaining? Just DON'T download it then. Problem solved.
Next off, you need to get over the fact that Naka's gone. It's was never like Naka was the embodiment of God and it wasn't like nobody could compare to him and that he was the only one who made Sonic great. There's loads of other people who can match the level of excellence that Naka delivered.
2: The newer titles
...They're actually pretty good IMO. All Stars Racing certainly impressed me and I'm not afraid to kill time playing it. I got a few kicks out of the latest Storybook game as well. True these new upcoming titles sound a bit dreary, but that's because we hardly know anything about them.
And here we go again, the classic response: "WHY DOSE SONIC NEED A CAR?? HE IZ SO MOAR FASTER THAN CAR SO THEREFORE IT IZ STOOPID!!!" Quoting a generic retard person, racing game... racing usually involves cars and vehicles... makes sense to give ALL the characters (even Sonic, shock and horror!!) a mode of trasportation to compete... eh?
3: Nintendo feeding Sonic
Not true. More of a close knitted coalition to get more of SEGA's products across to a wider audience. As Neo says, times evolve.
Nintendo NEVER bought SEGA, think about it. SEGA's perfectly capable of sustaining themselves with their other work. When someone mentions SEGA, you immediately think 'Sonic', but if you think carefully, you'll also think Shenmue (highly successful series), House of the Dead (highly successful series), Virtua Fighter (highly successful series)... You get the drift.
And if people say that Sonic is scarily leaning towards becoming Nintendo's property, I stress that IT ISN'T! These 'NinSEGA' coalition projects like Mario & Sonic, and even SSB: Brawl where Sonic was a playable character were simply to mix things up, and I also stress that they worked. Plus, the majority WANTED Sonic to be in Brawl as a new character when the game was in pre-release. I could draw up plenty more examples, but you should get my way.
4: Sonic's time is running out
This is exactly why there is a super-strong and dedicated fanbase out there who always chip in their thoughts about new releases and generate new ideas for new games.
And from what evidence can you say that the fanbase is diminishing? There's likely hundreds of sites out there dedicated to Sonic gaming and my bet is that 95% of them are still going strong. A pretty weak judgement if you ask me.
Don't take any of what I've just said to be offensive towards you. I absolutely respect your opinion and I do not mind you not liking SEGA or Sonic anymore, but I don't respect the fact that you and other like-minded people come back at people like us with your rants we do not want to listen to. Why can't you just leave us alone with it? Say what you say and be done with it, we are not going to slate you if you just say that you're turning your back on SEGA, we'd never think of trying to keep you stuck here. Just don't return back with complaints like these, because you'll inevitably get throttled for it.

This is the general opinion of the game, but I'm really hoping that Sonic Team treats this game like its last so that they'll work harder with it. Besides, every Sonic Game seems to be 'Sonic's Last Chance'. With the addition of Colors, I have some high hopes for the revival of Sonic, and if we don't get good gameplay out of them, we can always play the old ones.
