Post by Tizo Teh Hedgie on Tue Dec 29, 2009 10:32 pm

Direct quote from SEGA
SONIC CLASSIC COLLECTION DEBUTS ON THE NINTENDO DS!

Sonic Classic Collection™ allows fans both old and new to speed through the much loved zones of the four original Mega Drive adventures, in a bid to collect the chaos emeralds and save the world. Optimised to take full advantage of the Nintendo DS™ system, Sonic Classic Collection will feature a new save anywhere feature, a first in this original series, meaning that the games can be enjoyed anywhere, anytime! Gamers will also be given the chance to expand their knowledge with a wealth of extras including video and collectable pictures that are sure to be fan favourites.

Sonic Classic Collection™ gathers together the first four Sonic The Hedgehog adventures - Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog 2, Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles - introducing some of the most influential Sonic titles to a whole new generation of gamers exclusively for the DS.

So, what do you guys think of this?
Makes sense but... Only those classic games? But why, oh why, is there no Sonic CD?

Oh well. Hope its better than Sonic Genesis GBA *shudder*

It needed CD to be honest, then it would sound really kickass.
But it sounds good nonetheless.

Seems great =D
To bat it's doesn't have CD, but...it's still good!

It should have "Sonic the Hedgehog3 & Knuckles to lol
But since it's a fusion between STH3 and S&K, doesn't really matter i guess.
Must have it =D

What to do now...

If it's going to cost like ten pounds then it's a get but if you own the games already it seems almost pointless. i'd get it never the less.

This is sweet but honestly not worth it.
Emulation is the new thing and thanks to homebrew, I can play it on my psp.

Also the reason why Sonic CD can't be played is because IT'S ON A CD! Come on and use your brains guys! Sonic CD run off ISO files. The ds isn't a CD and there is not enough compacity and engine to run ISO files. And it it also run off of WAV/PCM sound effects and music. Unlike the genesis games, which runs on sound bits.

However I can play Sonic CD on my psp even wihout the disc because I have the memory and engine to store the ISO file and all the WAV/PCM music and sound effects.
Again DS does not have that capacity to play Sonic CD on a ds chip. It takes a good 2 gb of memory to play Sonic CD if downloaded.

I already have all four of those.... but it sounds cool! =D I like the box art! CD wouldve been cool but as FionaFreak said, no ISO files....

I wish they could make a collection of those rare or hard-to-find sonic games... *cough* Knuckles Chaotix, SEGASonicArcade....

I Miss You...
A Poem By: Alex the Devilechidna
I love you, Joee...
I miss you...
I miss your smile...
I miss your voice...
I miss your laugh...
And I miss your face...

I miss the times we shared...
the times we loved...
the times we laughed...
the times we lived...

I miss the happiness...
hand-holding, cuddling...
hugging, kissing...
sharing jokes, sharing secrets...
I miss it all...

But most of all....

I miss you...

Those were actually intended to be added in Sonic Gems Collection, but for unknown reasons, knuckles chaotix was added but was removed in the final. The art gallery still exist for that game in Sonic Gems. SegaSonicArcade couldn't be added because of the trackball control feature. Though i don't see why they can't use the analog stick.

Yeah, i really don't want to spend 40 bucks on Ebay or Amazon to get the game and another 30 for 32X attatchment! As for SegaSonicArcade, i could've easily used the analog stick... :/

No offence, but if your a true Sonic fan, then your gonna buy it, not illegally download games that dont give SEGA a dime.

And, also, is missing CD a big thing? The other games are good Smile

(Btw I edited my last posts as I made a few typo errors)
but yeah, I gotta admit, I had 70% of all Sega Genesis and Game Gear Games all
in Sonic Mega Collection and Sonic Gems Collection for my gamecube. Plus bonus gamegear games I unlocked in Somic Adventure DX.

It was rather convient.

But just buying them alone with only 4 games where the other collections had 12-13 games, the ds port is rather a rip off.

*new*
Zypo it's called saving money and being smart with spending.
Why the hell pay for something that is widely distributed for free and is in a crap 4 port game.
Saving my money and downloading them wisely don't make me any less
of a Sonic fan so don't insult my fandom like that.

1) ZPO, no 'y', Lisa.
2) Isnt that unfair on SEGA? They spent time and money making the game and you rip them off.

And i would prefer to play my Sonic games on a bigger screen, unfortunately the DS can't connect with the GC like the GBA can.... I would actually prefer to 12 games on one console collection for an reasonable price, rather than getting 4 games for $15, especially if i already have them all! Even S&K3 attatchment!

Plus, i really am not sure if SEGA gives a piece of poop about their fans... honestly, i can see they're trying but, really? Money and time seem a little unrealistic, for example, Sonic: Next Gen just looked like they pieced it together in ten minutes, C'mon!

To be honest I don't care.
Money don't grow on trees and I have to pay this myself.
I feel something is a ripoff and I can get it free elsewhere, you dang right I'm gonna download the many thousands of sonic fans who support emulation.
