NeoShadow's TOP 7 Dreamcast Games
[Wasn't sure where else to put this]
Title's self-explanatory. Why 7? Cuz it's MY list. Let's begin:
7. Soul Calibur

I'm sure you've all heard this one before, but seriously. This is an excellent game, and one that you REALLY should try (or one of the later ones... not sure how those are, though). This is a VERY sophisticated fighter, and one of the best of the genre... not THE best, but pretty damn close.
6. Typing of The Dead

What can I say? This game is *bleep*ing hilarious. When you see a game, where the main characters have battery-powered dreamcasts strapped on their backs, you lose all sense of reality. And besides that, the game is REALLY fun and addictive. If you don't have a dreamcast with a keyboard, try the Windows version. It's just a really fun game, that you should try out, at least once.
5. Sonic Adventure (1 AND 2)

GASP! BOTH the Sonic games NOT on #1?? Neo, surely you speak heresy!
Well, this is just how I feel, and don't get me wrong, these are fantastic games, it's just that I can name 5 that are better.
Anyway, both of these games are fantastic 3D adventure games, with terrific gameplay, sound and graphics. The reason I put both of them here, is that I look at them as a whole, because both games have their own problems that the other one seems to fix. Whatever I don't like about 2 is fixed in 1. I hate that I'm forced to play the Treasure hunting stages in 2, before I can move on to more Sonic stages, but in 1, I can choose the character I want to play with.
Both of these are great games, together, and if you like these types of games, you should have them (both of them are on Gamecube, so there ya go).
4. Ikaruga

I don't think many people saw this coming, but HOLY F*CK this game is incredible. I'm gonna say it right now - for me, this is THE best shmup, I've EVER played. It is addictive, fun, brilliantly designed and best of all - REALLY hard. No joking - if you get frustrated at games easily, stray away. This game is REALLY hard. Like, think Megaman hard... only 6 times harder. hehehehehehehe... hard.
Srsly - awesome game. (Also on GameCube, for those heretics that don't have a Dreamcast.)
3. Ecco The Dolphin: Defender of The Future

Another one that may surprise you, but it really is an incredible experience - one that I have yet to see done in any modern games. The Graphics, the design, the sound and the gameplay are all fantastic.
The Gameplay is also very difficult, as this is one of those games that doesn't hold your hand... AT ALL. You literly have to figure out what's going on and what to do, all on your own. This is a game that REALLY gives you something to do, and I HIGHLY recommend it. (It's on PS2 as well.)
2. Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Best fighting game ever. This game is EVERYTHING that Soul Calibur is not, but in a good way. This game is not as strategic, weapon-based or graphicly impressing as Soul Calibur, and that's what makes it fantastic. It is fast paced, fun to play, addictive. The graphics are great, for what they are, and they work well with the theme of the game. The combos you can pull off are insane.
Did I mention the kickass character lineup? Seriously, get this game and play it. If not on Dreamcast, then get it on PS2, Xbox, Xbox LIVE or PSN, whatever. Just play it. You really should.
1. Say it with me, now - SHENMUE

Seriously, how could I NOT put this on #1? The most expensive, most ambitious game of... ever, it's more than just a game - it's an experience. A massive storyline, with an ENORMOUS world to explore, the interactivity with all the details of the world and the kick-ass fighting in the gameplay are an unforgettable experience. I can't tell you if you'll like it or not, as this is a VERY mixed game. But you owe yourself, if you have a dreamcast, to at least TRY this game. You might just discover a fantastic gaming experience that you'll never forget. This isn't just my favorite Dreamcast game, this is UP there, as one of my favorite games OF ALL TIME.

I have Ecco the Dolphin on my PS2, and I can't make a lick of sense out of where you go or what you're supposed to do (not without using cheat unlocks that is). Plus I didn't expect someone like you to be saying that this is a good game (that aside, agreed it's good).

Like I said - Jet Grind Radio is OKAY, but it's not that great. And Phantasy Star Online is also good, but it's just that all of these games are better, for me.

lol, give it another play. It's supposed to not make sense. It's a game that has you thinking on what to do. Talk to dolphins, explore and sh*t.
I really love the game, it's just fantastic.
