So I got Modern Warfare 2...
got to say overall, it's a resounding "meh".
The gunplay is decent, the grenades are bouncy, but everything that's been done here has been done before. Nothing really dazzles me here. The multiplayer lags like hell also. I'm not saying it's a bad game, I'm saying that nothing innovative is done here. It's like CoD4 repackaged with a different campaign. Not even the difficulty stands out; I'm playing on Hardened (Right below veteran), and I'm breezing through it. Not a single "Mission failed" yet. Maybe I'll have to try Veteran when I'm done?
Your thoughts, anyone?

Yeah, Modern Warfare 2 is just another game that goes by the same old formulas. It's just for the crowd who think that games need to be "manly" for them to play it without being embarrassed with their peers. I'd rather play something like Bioshock.

I appreciate the series really well, but what I don't like about it is that there are some people who become so addicted and so obsessed with getting to level 50 and such that it's all I ever hear about at school and Facebook and everywhere else. It's a craze that's just getting old.

I appreciate the series
Does this mean that MW2 isn't part of the Call of Duty series anymore? Is Modern Warfare, now its own series? If so, where does 'Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare' stand now? Is it in the CoD series or the Modern Warfare series? Is it in both? I'm so confused.
Ignore this post, as I am a dumbass.
... Personally, my favorite of the series is Call of Duty 1.

Forget this, I'm just gonna confuse you all now...
Best just to say that CoD (including MW & MW2) are made by the same people and leave it at that.
Favourite - ...haven't played enough games to know which is my favourite really...

No, but all the CoD games till now were in the same series, including Modern Warfare (it still had CoD in the title, Modern Warfare was just the subtitle), but I was just confused about MW2, but I didn't notice that it also has CoD in the title, so that eliminates the confusion - YES, MW2 is still in the CoD series.

Never played MW but my friends say it's the best because it's different from the others.
I only played WaW

Meh... Call of Duty 1 and 2 are just masterpieces, IMO. Modern Warfare just feels like it's trying too hard... Don't know if that makes sense...
Re: So I got Modern Warfare 2...
The only real thing going for MW is the fact that it's gameplay pace is more faster then other games like MGS4 and Gears. Which doesn't seem to be very good on paper, but it does it well enough to be good for what it is. I personal think MW2 got more praise den it deserved, it did nothing new to reinvent itself. BUT, if I was going to buy MW or MW2, I would go with 2 just because it seems that more people play it den teh others yeah.

I would to. Actually, I rather reverse pick pocket a grenade into someones pants instead.

Modern Warfare 2 is just too similar to the first Modern Warfare for me. I traded the game back in not too long ago. The multiplayer is terrible in my opinion and the campaign was hard to play more than once.

It's the little things that make a game special.
