Wolf Tails: The Rise of the Pack
This story is actually not a Sonic-themed story, but is actually a vampire-werewolf story... i am really upset with how Twilight came out so i began to write this, which originally started as a short story... The events in this story really happened to me and my friends, except for all the fantasy vampy stuff.... XD Hope you enjoy the story! And feel free to tell me what you think!

Prologue: And so as the sun sets of another day, thus begins a whole new day… But, when the day is thoroughly finished, the moon rises… a big yellow crescent in the sky… Looking down on the many civilians it towers above… It’s sort-of the protector to some… And according to Native-American legends… marks the birth of the shape-shifter… known commonly as… the Werewolf.
Chapter 1: The Beginning
Hi, My name is Alexis. Or Alex. Or Lexi. Or whatever. I’m just your average 13 year-old girl. I go to school at your average middle school, neat and tidy, well polished… I live an average life, drama here and there, and everything a growing teenager would expect. Until the unexpected… You’re about to discover the biggest change of my life and how it’s affected me. It all started one day at school, It was 3:05, the end of a long day, I was waiting by the back gates for my friend, Monica. She was cool. Tall, light brown hair, brown eyes, looked really good in warm colors, and was a overall good friend, more like a sister to me. She eventually skipped up to me, her ponytail bobbing behind her. “Hey, you seen Joee?” she asked, pulling her phone out of her pocket to check her texts. “Mm… not yet…” I said, looking around for him. “Ah well, maybe he has detention…” She said slamming her phone and tucking back in her jacket pocket. Joee was Monica’s new boyfriend, she didn’t really want to go out with him, she was just forced into it by her other friend. Personally, I thought Joee was a rather good looking guy… he was tall, funny, had a charming smile, and was kinda weird (in a good way). “Want to come over to my house?” I asked Monica, shrugging my backpack onto my left shoulder. “Sure, I’ll ask my mom…” she said, texting her mom really quick. I had already texted my mom, who okayed it. “Yeah, I can come.” Monica announced. “Okay, cool!” I smiled, as we began our long walk up the hill to my house. “So, Monica… Joee text you yet?” I chuckled, tucking a lock of brown hair behind my ear. “Not yet, I bet he’s still in detention… He got busted by Ms. Martin.” Monica rolled her eyes, but smiled at the statement. “Oh, figures… He’s bound to get caught sooner or later…” I laughed, patting her shoulder. She laughed along with me as we made our way into my house and upstairs to my open-spaced bedroom. “Um… I think I’m going to break up with him, though…” She admitted; her face looked flushed. “What?! Why?!” I looked at her with a shocked expression. “To be honest, I really don’t have feelings for him… No offence to him… I’m going to break up with him tomorrow…” She said, setting her bag down and pulling out her Arnie-covered binder. “Mm… okay…” I said, pulling out my blue binder and tearing out some paper. I blushed and at the back of my mind, my thoughts were registering. “Wow, is she really not interested in Joee? I think he’s adorable! I’d go out with him, but he wouldn’t ever take an interest in me! I mean, look at me!” I thought, looking down at my red Sonic the Hedgehog shirt and taking a long sigh. After quickly jotting down some quick history notes, I took a long chew on my eraser then put my pencil down. “Hey Monica…” I said tapping my pencil on my binder idly. “Yeah?” She said, searching her backpack for her math workbook. “Would it be weird… if y’know… If I told you I think Joee is cute…?” I asked, my cheeks felt warm all the sudden. “You think Joee is cute? Well, you should ask him out! I’m breaking up with him anyway!” Monica said sharpening her pencil, blowing on the tip to get rid of the shavings. “N-no! I-I just meant that I thought he was cute! I couldn’t go out with him!” I felt my cheeks turn hot all the sudden as I fiddled with a strand of my hair. Taking this into deep consideration, I chewed harder on the pencil eraser, snapping it off completely. “Are we still going to the Haunted House tomorrow night?” Monica asked, looking in my bedroom mirror, fixing her hair. “Mhm…” I nodded, not looking up from my history notes. “Cool. So what’s the plan?” She said, tugging her ponytail. “Uhm, we get out at 3:05, uhm, you come over after school, we get ready to go, we go the Haunted House, afterward we come back for the sleepover?” I said, hoping she got all that. “Otay, that works.” She said, putting her hair band back into place on her head. I loved Halloween, it was a cool holiday (and close to my birthday) … but once you get to a certain age… you really start to not be afraid of it anymore and it ruins the fun entirely… I was excited though… I got to wear my special new costume that I was dying to wear since my mom and I drove to like three stores trying to find it. So, for Halloween, I was going to be Batgirl… big whoop right? Well, I’m a HUGE comic book fan and I love Batman, so… BATGIRL! The costume fit really well, the only flaw is that I have big thighs, so wearing the tight black dress would be a big no-no! So I’m going to wear leggings to cover the fat! The costume was perfect though, it came with a dress (Bat logo included!), Bat mask, Utility Belt, Boots (I’m replacing with my new high-tops) , glove lets, and cape! Awesome, right? I smiled at the thought of my awesome costume and then staggered through the rest of the day, glad to finally be curled up in bed. I clicked off the light and laid there, staring up at the ceiling, my Knuckles the Echidna doll at my side. Slowly, I shut my eyes and drifted into a soft sleep. While shifting in my sleep, I slid one eye open and peeked at my bedroom clock, afraid to see what time it was… The blinking green numbers read 6:38… Using all my strength, I reached over and clicked on the light, rubbing my sleepy eyes tiredly. Hesitating to get up, I eventually swung my legs out of the covers into the cold air. Shivering as I walked to my closet, I dug through my large endless piles of laundry and found my Batgirl costume, vacuum packed in its awesome packaging. Quickly reviving myself from my groggy mood, I opened the flap and pulled out my costume, slipping my outfit on and flaunting myself in the mirror, a big grin spreading across my face. As I started to tie my high-tops, my phone started to buzz. A text from Monica. I flipped my phone open and looked at my text was I finished my right shoe. It read, “Hey Lex, I broke up with Joee… he just said okay… and he said he’s going to ask Becca out…”. I sighed and typed “okay”, then finished tying my other shoe. I jumped to my feet, slung my backpack over my shoulders and trekked downstairs to wait for my dad. My dad lumbered down the stairs around 7:56 and we headed out the door to school. Once we pulled up to the front of the school, my dad let me out and saluted me good luck and happy crime fighting. I chuckled as he sped off and ran down the steps to the front gate. Once inside the school, I immediately spotted Joee, his height makes him so obvious. I walked up to him, since we were cool buds. He was wearing a green t-shirt and some cut up jeans, your average rebel-wear. He smiled at me as I walked up to him. With a slight twinge in my stomach, I blushed, “Do I look ridiculous?” I asked him, nervously tossing the cape back over my shoulders. “No, you look good…” He smiled again, I gasped silently, his smile was so gorgeous. I smiled back and stood by his side as he talked to my friend Nya and his friend Luis. “I’m Luigi for Halloween, see? I’m wearing green!” Joee said, tugging at his t-shirt. “Nah breh, you don’t look like Luigi, cuz you not Mexican! You don’t got the moustache or the dark hair!” Luis said, laughing. “Um… I hate to interrupt… but Luigi is Italian…” I said, I sucked my breath in, I immediately regretted saying that, sounding like a total smart dork in front of Joee. “Whatever! Same thing!” Luis said laughing, phew, it didn’t affect anybody. I laughed too. Suddenly, the bell rang for homeroom, so I quickly air hugged Joee and then ran to homeroom with Luis. After making my way cheerfully throughout the day, I smiled at everybody, even the people I disliked. As long as I had my radical costume, my friends, and Joee, nothing could bother me. Finally, it was 7th period, the last period of the day, which was Science for me. Even though I had a really annoying science teacher, Mrs. Larsen, that still wasn’t going to destroy my good mood. As plunked myself down in my chair and set my backpack down, Mrs. Larsen had us quiet down to announce something. “There’s going to be an assembly outside in the quad area, so we’re all going down there in a single file line and we’re going to have an assigned area. I smiled. “Well, no science today… That’s another plus-side!” I thought as I picked up my backpack and prepared to go to the quad. Once we’d exited the classroom, I saw Ms. Martin’s class coming down the stairs, I spotted Monica, who waved at me, Arnie right by her, and Joee, tall and charming, striding down the stairs himself. “Wow, how much more awesome can this day get?” I said, trying to contain my excitement. As we all entered the quad, I could see that there was some sort of fun relay going on down there, but considering the fact I’m short… I couldn’t see… So, I just decided to hang around in the back of the crowd and talk to friends. As I stood on my toes, peering through the crowd for Monica, I saw her standing by Joee, laughing and hanging with her friends. Monica saw me and waved me over. I nervously tugged at my bangs and walked up to her, Joee noticing me also… I blushed as he smiled again… “So, what’s up guys?” I asked, adjusting the cape of my costume again. “Nothing much, we can’t see over the crowd…” Monica shrugged. “I can!” Joee said cheerfully. “Of course you can, Mr. Dinosaur!” Monica teased him. Joee just smiled and shoved his hands in his pockets. And just at that moment the bell rang to go home… I quickly darted to the back gate where I always meet Monica and waited for her and Joee to come out. Monica finally got out and we sat and got warm in the last refreshing sun of the summer. Five minutes later, Joee came out to meet us, his silly grin making me laugh. “Wow… I really wish we could become something…” I sighed. “Joee, please come to the Haunted House with us later!” I said, pleading. “I don’t have a ticket…” Joee jammed his thumbs in his pockets. “I’ll make a copy of mine…” I said, crossing my arms. “I don’t think I can go anyway…” Joee said crossing his arms too. I couldn’t help but smile. As I stared up into his big brown eyes, I heard a car horn. My mom had parked and wanted Monica and I to hurry. “Well, okay… Bye…” I said looking up at him, and then we both hugged. “I’m excited to go the Haunted House…” Monica said flopping onto the back seat. “Me too… I wish Joee could come!” I sighed and climbed into the front next to my mom…

Chapter 2: The Haunted House
At around 5:30, my mom dropped us off at the school. I had kept my costume on all day and for the night I just added eyeliner to make me look more mysterious. Monica was dressed as a Goth girl, she had dark make-up and Gothic clothes as well. When we arrived, we had just got in line for the entrance to the Haunted House, located inside the gym. As we got to the front of the line, we saw Jason ushering people inside 5 people at a time. Finally, we entered the gym, inside it was very dark. They had hung up curtains around and had those flashing white lights, even people jumping out at you from out of nowhere. Monica and I made our way through, I was not scared by anything, I yawned. But then we rounded the corner. “Hey Alexis…” said a familiar deep voice. I jumped at the person wearing the Scream costume and started rapidly breathing. “Alexis, calm down! It’s me, Alex!” He said putting a hand on my shoulder. My face flushed with embarrassment. “Oh… Hi Alex…” I said almost tripping over his shoes. He chuckled at my clumsiness as I blushed, although you couldn’t see it in the dark room. “What are you doing here?! It’s your birthday! You should be at home relaxing and celebrating!” I exclaimed, as he poked me with the foam knife he was holding. “Well, I wanted to work!” He laughed. “Ugh, you are so weird, Alex!” I laughed too. I lost track of Monica, so I hugged Alex and then ran off to catch up with her, yet again not getting scared by anything else. As I exited through the other side of the gym, I felt the warm night air rush to me. The outside had booths and games set up, there was a DJ system up on the quad stage with a high school student as the DJ. I finally found Monica, she was hanging with Janessa, Patricia, and Becca… “Thanks for waiting up…” I mumbled to her. “Sorry! You took too long!” she said giving me a hug. “I dumped Joee… he’ s really stupid… Wow…” Becca said, laughing. “Pssh, not to me…” I thought to myself, my bottom lip stuck out. Suddenly the DJ started playing some music, the first song with “This is Halloween” (remix) by Marilyn Manson, then “Clint Eastwood” by the Gorillaz, and finally… “Decode”… by Paramore… I sat down on one of school benches… feeling pretty sorry for myself. As I heard the beginning notes to Decode, my throat tightened and my stomach ached. “This song…” I thought, clutching my throat. Without warning, tears began to roll down my cheeks as the lyrics stung me like a thorn. Monica had just come back from dancing out in the quad. “Alexis?! What’s wrong?! Are you okay?!” she said rushing to my side and hugging me. Since she was taller, I had my head on her chin, I sniffled. “I… I…” I choked. “You what, hun?” Monica gave me a gentle pat on the back. “I’m a hopeless wreck!!!” I wailed, not able to swallow down the sobs. “You are not!” Monica squeezed me. “Yes I am…” I coughed. Suddenly, Alex came out from the Haunted House exit and took off his mask so he could get some air. “There’s Alex…” Monica whispered. “Mhm…” I nodded, my eyeliner staining my cheek in a black streak. “Why would you think you’re hopeless though, Lex?” Monica said standing up. “Because… nobody likes me…” I sniffled, twiddling my thumbs. “That’s ridiculous! Lots of people like you!” She said crossing her arms. “Not any guys…” I murmured. “You just haven’t found one you have something in common with!” Monica said, zipping up her skull jacket as the wind picked up. “Right…” I thought sarcastically, wrapping my cape around me. At around 7:00, the Haunted House was coming to an end, parents came to pick up their kids, and staff and other crew were putting away booths and other decorations. I had texted my mom to let her know we ready to go. “I want to hug Alex and say bye!” Monica skipped over to Alex, I tagged along also. “Hey Alex!” Monica waved. “Oh Hey Monica. Hey Alexis…” He said tossing his foam knife in the air and catching it. “Well, I hope you have a good birthday Alex! I still want to get you a present…” I smiled. “Nah, you don’t have to get me anything…” he replied. “But, I want to!” I stamped my foot and giggled. Alex laughed too. “Well, we got to go! See you at school on Monday!” I said, wrapping my arms around him in a hug. “Cool, see you then!” he said, taking his phone out of his pocket. Monica hugged him too. With a sigh, we both walked out to the parking lot, glad my mom was there since it was so cold....
